BLTD Week 10 Pick 'Em
Friends of the GERE Network, we are here.
Better Live Than Dead has officially made its way over to the GERE Network blog, and for good reason!
As mentioned in the 15th episode of Better Live Than Dead (listen here), GERE Network dot com’s blogs will host John, Perez, and Ryan’s picks for this week’s slate of NFL games, sponsored by Fanduel.
Before we get into the picks, let’s take a look back and update you on the GERE Network Fanduel Pick ‘Em standings.
John and Ryan are tied with a record of 48-25. Perez is 1 game back, with a record of 47-26.
Moving over to the picks now.
The guys were unanimous in their decision with the following games: ATL over TB, PIT over NYJ, DAL over JAX, BAL over TEN, DEN over OAK, SEA over NYG, ARI over STL, and GB over CHI.
For the Thursday Night Football matchup, Perez and Ryan chose the Cincinnati Bengals. John chose the Cleveland Browns.
“I chose them for absolutely no reason,” John tells GERENetwork.com “It is a game, that aside from Devon Still’s daughter being there, I could really care less about. I had to pick one, I chose Cleveland. Unless Hoyer gets injured and Manziel comes in, then fuck the Browns.”
The next matchup in question is San Francisco at New Orleans. John and Ryan have chosen the Saints, while Perez chose the 49ers.
“I think New Orleans has not been consistent enough this season,” said Perez. “Drew Brees is in his “tossing a lot of interceptions mood” right now. I think San Francisco’s offense is currently better.”
Kansas City at Buffalo represents our third matchup in question. John and Perez selected Kansas City, and Ryan continued his streak of selecting Buffalo.
“So far, I’ve gotten on a nice little streak with picking the Buffalo Bills,” Ryan tells us. “Another week with Kyle Orton under center only continues to make this offense stronger. While the Bills are without Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller, Orton has grown a nice rapport with rookie receiver Sammy Watkins. If the game vs. the Jets showed us anything (157 yds., 1 TD), Watkins can take over a football game. No doubt that Buffalo will be challenged though, as Kansas City boasts the best pass defense in the league.”
When asked about previous picks, John wanted to hand out his two cents on the Buffalo Bills currently and looking into the immediate future.
“The Bills need to take 3 of 5 against the power teams that they are playing against,” said John. “KC, Miami, Green Bay, Denver or New England. The Bills need 3 out of those 5 to get 8 wins. Factor in two easy wins over the Jets and Raiders, that puts them at 10 wins. Cleveland can go either way. If the Bills beat Cleveland and finish the season at 11-5, that will be good enough to get them in the playoffs. If not, and they finish 10 wins or less, sadly..they will miss out.”
The final game the guys disagreed on is the Monday Night Football matchup that pits Carolina at Philadelphia. John and Ryan chose Philadelphia, and believe that Mark Sanchez can successfully take over following the clavicle injury suffered by Nick Foles last week.
Perez, on the other hand, is not convinced. When asked if Mark Sanchez was the reason that he chose Carolina this week, Perez emphatically responded, “Yes.”
